2007 Season Flashback A note from Meg Swimelar
Thanks to our crew and passengers for making our 2007 season so successful.
Our
past season was filled with new friends, new memories, new first
time adventures, and a deep appreciation for the indescribable up
close and awesome glaciers, wildlife, and natural beauty of Alaska.
This
year was my first cruise as a passenger with six of my high school
classmates. Our squeals, giggles, and tears were so high
school! A float plane delivered lost luggage. Tears were shed
seeing whales for the first time. Risk taking challenges were met
courageously. We slept under the stars, kept the crew up till wee
hours; we knew when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em, and shed our
skivvies at Baranoff. It was a blest time for the seven of
us. Our motto:"Girls gone wild. It's all about me." I'll always savor
this time together on the M.V. Sikumi with my
girlfriends. Thanks
to our passengers for their positive and constructive comments on
completion of their trip. Crew and exceptional service were most
lauded followed by "once in a life time experience," and "best
vacation ever."
Look for new trips next fall in the San Juan Islands and day trips in the Puget Sound area.
Regretably,
our 2007 season ended with sad news of Captain Kurt's father's
fatal accident outside Sitka, Alaska. Passengers will recall
Kurt sharing loving stories about his dad and their family.
Peace and Happiness
